Monitor lizards and red-footed tortoises
More brainy reptiles! The monitor lizard impressed researchers by figuring out how to rotate a clear tube to extract a snack. And the red-footed tortoise can learn by watching another tortoise – pretty amazing social skills given the reptile’s generally anti-social existence. These tortoises can also use strategy and landmark recognition to navigate a radial arm maze (in pursuit of a tasty treat, naturally).
